Where it came from

Why we make
these at all.

There is a cave in Italy where St. Michael is said to have appeared. Tradition says no bishop ever consecrated it — he did it himself.

I went down the steps and knelt on the stone and prayed there.

And I thought about everyone who will never get to do that. Too old to travel. Never able to afford the trip.

So that's what we do. That's the whole mission.
