The Miraculous Medal

She made one promise to everyone who wears it.

Rue du Bac, Paris · 27 November 1830

Her own words to St. Catherine Labouré. Most people who wear the medal have never read them.

The promise

All who wear it will receive great graces.

And she asked that it be worn around the neck.

Our Lady to St. Catherine Labouré · 1830

What she asked in return

Three conditions. That is all of it.

One
Struck to her design. Front and back, exactly as she appeared.
Two
Worn around the neck. Not carried, not kept in a drawer. She named the place herself.
Three
Asked for with confidence. The graces go to those who ask. The prayer is already engraved around the rim.

Struck to the 1830 design. Every ray, all twelve stars, the full prayer.

Mary standing on the globe with rays of light pouring from her hands

Some of the gems gave off no light.

Catherine saw gems on Our Lady’s hands pouring out light. Some stayed dark — the graces people forget to ask for.

Nothing was withheld. They were simply never requested.

Rue du Bac, still open today

There is something you have stopped asking for.

She promised grace, not outcomes — every grace comes from God, through her prayers. Put the medal on, and you are asking again.
